Quantum’s DXi7500 Becomes Industry’s First Deduplication Solution Certified with Symantec OST Direct-To-Tape Capability
Quantum has recently announced that its DXi7500 disk backup and remote replication solution is the first deduplication system to be certified by Symantec for its OpenStorage API (OST) direct tape creation capability. Building on Quantum’s certified support for OST remote replication, which enables users to move data backed up to disk efficiently between sites, OST direct tape creation adds the ability to create copies on tape, all in a fully automated process managed and tracked by NetBackup.
Fully certified OpenStorage support is available as an option on DXi7500 Express and DXi7500 Enterprise models, and is bundled in to all DXi2500-D models providing seamless integration between NetBackup and the DXi family of deduplication and replication solutions.
