Emulex announce the general availability of their new OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapter (UCNA) Product Family

Emulex's OneConnect™ UCNA is now available in the channel, and IT managers can decisively begin moving toward network convergence without leaving legacy networking behind.
The general availability of the OneConnect™ UCNA marks Emulex's expansion into 10Gb/s Ethernet networking for Local Area Networks (LAN) on Motherboard (LOMs), network interface cards (NICs) and CNAs that accelerate and are optimised for Internet Protocol (IP), Network Attached Storage (NAS), clustering, cloud objects and Storage Area Networks (SANs).
By converging storage and network traffic, OneConnect™ UCNAs reduce capital expense (CapEx) for adapters, switches and cables, and operational expense (OpEx) for power, cooling and IT administration. Unlike first-generation CNAs that only provide Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) convergence, OneConnect™ UCNAs provide optimised performance for the following protocols:
- TCP/IP
- iSCSI
- FCoE
Accelerators/offload engines for all supported protocols allow Emulex OneConnect™ UCNAs to deliver maximum performance, regardless of the mix of network traffic.
OneConnect™ Product Family
- OCe10102-N: 10Gb Network Adapter
- OCe10102-I: 10Gb iSCSI Adapter
- OCe10102-F: 10Gb FCoE Converged Network Adapter
The OneConnect™ product family features the OneCommand™ Manager application that simplifies administration with a single console for network and storage management.

Operational Efficiency
In addition to providing your customers with a single solution to supports all their networking requirement in one card, OneConnect™ will enable them to increase their operational efficiencies by reducing their CapEx and OpEx costs, with a universal convergence platform:
- Convergence on the host consolidates networking thereby reducing capital requirements (reduced number of adapters needed)
- Convergence in the network reduces the number of switch ports required
For IT Managers this simplifies I/O choices and solves the blade I/O dilemma of balancing IP vs. FC whilst providing protection for current and future investment in FC and IP infrastructure.
Your Benefits
- Easy add-on sales and support helping you increase your server attach rates and margins
- Sell more into new and existing networking and storage infrastructures without interoperability concerns
- A reason to call your existing SAN customers to discuss with them the advantages of a converged network solution
- Be ahead of your competition and call your existing IP customers to offer them consolidated network and storage solution
- Help you become your customer's trusted supplier by selling a reliable, tried and tested solution with broad enterprise software validation that you know "just works!"
