Infortrend: New Product Release – EonStor S12U-G1440 / S16U-G1440
New SCSI-to-SAS/SAS Subsystems to the EonStor G6 Family
For more than 20 years, SCSI has been the predominant protocol in data centers. Even until now when Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) is gradually replacing it as the succeeding standard for enterprise server and storage environments, some users still trust their Direct-Attached Storage (DAS) deployment on this protocol of time-proven reliability. To help these users meet rising data demands with new technology while protecting current investment, Infortrend combines Ultra-320 SCSI host connectivity with SAS/SATA drive support on 2U and 3U enclosures to deliver two new EonStor G6 models: S12U-G1440 and S16U-G1440.
The two new subsystems advance the power of SCSI arrays to a new level. Their outstanding processing power can satisfactorily deal with high data-intensive applications, and the storage space can be scaled up to112 drives as needed by connecting the subsystems with expansion enclosures. During the transition period for SCSI storage users to implement the infrastructure upgrade, the S12U and S16U ensure them to satisfactorily deal with application needs and maintain business competitiveness.
